The Congress is promoted by the International Group for Studies of Colonial Periodical Press of the Portuguese Empire (IGSCP-PE) and the project ORION – Portuguese Orientalism, and organized by CHAM – Centre for Humanities, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, and CEComp – Centre for Comparative Studies, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. The Organizing Committee also counts on the active participation of other significant institutional partners such as BNP, National Library of Portugal, Mozambican Historical Archive, National Library of Mozambique, National Library of Angola, Centro de Documentação 25 de Abril, the Thinking Goa Group, the Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation, and the Instituto Arquivo Histórico Nacional de Cabo Verde.
The Scientific Committee joins scholars of multidisciplinary fields of recognized national and international merit.
